Bernadette Michael Hamre-Gutierrez was born on February 16 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She graduated from UT Arlington with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary studies (Education) in 2007. Newly married to Gabriel Gutierrez, she just returned from her honeymoon in France and Spain. She resides in Arlington and works as a teacher at Sherrod elementary. In addition to playing the clarinet, she enjoys yoga, reading and traveling. She was a participant at World Youth Day in Germany in 2005.
Jonathan Michael Bengfort was born on June 25 in Lindsay, Texas. He graduated from UT Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in May 2005. He is married to Lisa (featured alum, Nov 2006), works at Teague, Nall & Perkins in Fort Worth, Texas, and is also the Treasurer of the UCCAA. Both he and his wife are pursuing their MBA at UTA and will graduate this year-end. His interests include biking, hiking, roller-blading and basketball.
Ashlie Lauren Privett was born on May 29 in Denton, Texas. She graduated from UT Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2005. Currently a resident of Dallas, she works as a registered nurse in the Pediatric Trauma/Neuro ICU at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. She recently returned from a week long medical mission trip to Honduras. Her interests include cooking, watching movies, playing basketball, and shopping for shoes.
Jorge Trevino was born on October 15, in Edinburg, TX. He graduated from UT Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 2005, and is currently pursing a graduate degree in Architecture at his alma mater. His interests include reading, going to the movies and dancing. He is an ardent supporter of UTA basketball and is active in student affairs on campus.
Ije Onwuneme was born on Decem- ber 04, in Nigeria, and graduated from UTA with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2005. She resides in Dallas and currently works as a research technician at UT Southwestern Medi- cal Center. Her hobbies include watching movies, reading novels and playing tennis.
Paul Thomas O’Brien was born on January 16 in Beaumont, Texas. After spending some time at UT Arlington, he graduated with his Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Lamar University in 2006. Soon after, he joined FOCUS as a missionary and spent 18 months visiting college campuses, helping students know more about Jesus. At present, he works with technology services at FOCUS, where he helps support and maintain IT infrastructure. His hobbies include reading, travel- ing, fishing and racquetball.
Lauren Frances Goss was born on February 9 in Midland, Texas. She graduated from UT Arlington with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2006 and is currently pursuing a graduate degree with the English department at UTA. A resident of Irving, she teaches English to freshmen and sophomores in high school. She enjoys sports in general and playing soccer in particular. She also likes reading books and watching movies.
Luis Francisco Chapa-Gonzalez was born on March 29 in Monterrey, Mexico. He graduated with his Master of Science from UT Austin and was awarded his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from UT Arlington in 2006. He lives with his wife and three children in Monterrey, where he teaches. He also holds a position at the roadway planning agency.
Maggie Wright was born on July 23 in Plano, Texas. She graduated from UT Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture in December 2006. She resides in The Colony, TX, and is currently employed at O’Brien & Associates as a Production Intern. She recently passed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Exam. Her interests include scrapbooking, traveling, dancing and running marathons.

The purpose of the University Catholic Community Alumni Association (UCCAA) is to promote a continuing sense of community based in the teachings of Jesus Christ and His Church among former member of the University Catholic Community (formerly the Newman Club). Also, the UCCAA actively tries to foster deeper concern among its member for the welfare of the University Catholic Community (UCC).
